Ekiden is a hybrid CLOB-based derivatives (perpetuals + spot) exchange on the Canton Network. It has an active XP/points system that may convert into a community token allocation (often referred to as EKI) at TGE. No official airdrop has been formally confirmed or dated, but the team tracks XP from trading activity, and community guides treat mainnet farming as the path to potential rewards.

Mainnet launched in a closed/gated form around early September 2026 (first access to top testnet traders). Access remains invite-only and is expanding in waves. Testnet farming is largely historical at this point.

  • XP system: Active. Earn via trading fees paid, holding positions, quests, and referrals.
  • Reward outlook: XP is intended to feed a future token allocation. No conversion rate, allocation size, or TGE date has been publicly locked in.
  • Cost: Real capital is required (deposit USDC via bridge). Not free like pure testnet farming.

How to Get Mainnet Access

  1. Go to the official app: app.ekiden.fi.
  2. Sign in (Google is the simplest option; Console Wallet also works for Canton users).
  3. If you see a “Not on the access list” screen, note your Party ID (starts with ekiden-).
  4. Activate with an access/invite code when you obtain one.

Ways to obtain a code:

  • Historical: Top 100 testnet leaderboard participants received early codes.
  • Referral system: Existing mainnet users unlock invite codes by generating $1,000 of their own trading volume (1 code per $1k, up to 50 codes). Share those codes.

Funding & Starting to Trade

  1. In the app open Deposit/Withdraw → select EVM to Canton Bridge.
  2. Connect an EVM wallet, choose supported network/asset (primarily USDC on Ethereum), enter amount, and carefully confirm the Canton recipient matches your Ekiden account.
  3. Approve and bridge. Wait for the deposit to credit to your Funding Account.
  4. Transfer funds from Funding Account → Trading Account.
  5. Go to Trade, select a market, set leverage/direction/size, and open positions.

How to Earn XP (Main Farming Mechanism)

From the official points docs:

  • Taker trades: 10 XP per $1 of taker fees paid.
  • Maker trades: 5 XP per $1 of taker-equivalent fees (you still earn even with zero/rebate maker fees).
  • Holding positions: Up to 1 XP per $1,000 notional held per hour (after 5 minutes open). Rate scales with effective leverage (floor at 0.1×, full rate at 10×+). Accrues every minute.
  • Referrals: 15% / 10% / 5% of the XP earned by your Level 1 / 2 / 3 network (added on top—no deduction from the earner).
  • Quests: Fixed XP for volume thresholds, number of trades, first referral, etc. Daily quests reset at midnight UTC.
  • Multipliers: Some access codes or campaigns grant multipliers (highest one applies; does not stack). Referrers benefit from the boosted XP.

XP appears quickly (trading ~30 seconds, holding every minute). Losing trades does not reduce your XP balance. Market-maker/internal accounts are excluded.
